In October, the Clubs under the Association of Rotary Clubs UAE joined the International movement - End Polio Now with a series of meaningful and dynamic events across Dubai.
Each Rotary club brought its distinct approach to raising awareness while uniting for a common purpose - the strive for a Polio-Free world, a campaign that Rotary International launched.
Rotary International launched its polio eradication efforts in 1985 with the introduction of PolioPlus, a program to immunize every child in the world against polio. In 1988, Rotary became a founding member of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), a multinational public health effort to permanently eliminate polio.

Rotary Universe’s End Polio Aperitif: A Night of Purpose and Connection
On October 24, 2024, the Rotary Club of Universe hosted an ‘End Polio Aperitif’ at L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele in City Walk.
Led by President Dominique Valmy and the club’s board, the evening combined the joy of fellowship with a focus on raising awareness for polio eradication. Members and guests alike engaged in meaningful conversations dedicated to this critical cause.
Rotary Downtown’s End Polio Fellowship Evening
The following night, Rotary Downtown gathered members and friends at Jumeirah Creekside Hotel to emphasize the role of the community in the fight against polio. The event also served as a warm introduction for new members, offering them an opportunity to join the ongoing journey toward a world without polio.
A Hike with a Purpose: Rotary Eco Dubai, Rotary Bur Dubai, and Rotary Cosmopolitan
On October 26, 2024, Rotary Club Eco Dubai, Rotary Club of Bur Dubai, and Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Dubai came together for an End Polio Hike at the Mushrif Park hiking trail in Dubai.
Over 70 participants starting from 3 years old, came together to raise awareness, showing that every step counts in the mission to eradicate polio.
Swinging for a Cause at Rotary Jumeirah’s Golf Tournament
Also on October 26, the Rotary Club of Jumeirah hosted a Par3 Golf Tournament at Trump International Golf Club in Dubai.
Players and spectators united to support polio awareness, with each swing, chip, and putt adding to the momentum of Rotary’s mission to end polio.
Rotary Dubai’s Beachside End Polio Dinner
Closing the month’s activities, Rotary Dubai held an End Polio Dinner at Limonata Restaurant overlooking the beautiful Palm Jumeirah.
Against this scenic backdrop, members reflected on the progress toward eradicating polio and renewed their commitment to meeting the challenges ahead.
These events have amplified the message of Rotary’s commitment to ending polio and highlighted the strength, unity, and dedication of Rotarians across the UAE.
